During this period, architects and designers started adapting Modernist principles to suit tropical climates with methods such as natural ventilation to bring relief from the heat and humidity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Regional Adaptation (1950s\u20131970s)<\/strong><br>Architects such as Geoffrey Bawa in Sri Lanka and Richard Neutra in the United States boldly experimented with designs that combined verdant landscapes, wide verandahs and passive cooling techniques. Bawa, known as the father of Tropical Modernism, created spaces that, simply put, brought the outdoors in.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Environmental Awareness (1980s)<\/strong><br>With sustainability gaining awareness and popularity, Tropical Modernism grew by leaps and bounds. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designfirst.co.in\/our-approach\" title=\"\">Biophilic design<\/a> and climate-responsive architecture gained momentum.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fusion of Luxury and Ecology (2000s)<\/strong><br>As luxury living evolved, Tropical Modernism found its way into luxury homes and resorts. Combining natural materials with contemporary aesthetics, designers started creating lavish, eco-conscious spaces.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tropical Modernism (21st Century)<\/strong><br>Tropical Modernism continues to thrive as a design philosophy.
